All are located downtown. The Chalet's location is unique, but it's an outdoor Starbucks. There is a lot of parking that's close to the location and is easy to find. Walk straight up Grand from the Arch. It's the tallest building in the city and is a landmark. The Starbucks is in the bottom three floors of the building.
StarbucksSt. Louis has four official Starbucks stores that are open during the Halloween time:
One Gateway Center, 845 Olive Street
Chalet No. 1
One South Grand
Merchants Square
The Starbucks on South Grand is more of a take-out restaurant. It's in the back of a shopping plaza. The street is more residential, with fewer people walking by. There is a long wait for the outdoor seating. We arrived about 45 minutes after the lines started. The Starbucks was busy all night and the staff had to go through a lot of coffees to make the drinks. The outdoor seating is only open for about an hour, so plan on getting here early. The coffee is good and you can order in the outdoor seating area, but the coffee is served from a tiny window that's covered with the weather.
You get to the Starbucks during a busy time of the evening. The line was about 30 minutes long. The Starbucks was packed and there were plenty of people outside waiting in the street, so consider yourself prepared to wait. Also consider that it's a big city, so the Arch area is not a ghost town after hours. This is fine, but it means there are lots of people shopping. We enjoyed the Starbucks at the Chalet. The interior is large and the coffee is very good. It's a high quality coffee shop that's perfect for a relaxing end to your night on a full stomach. The only thing to note is the long lines when the weather is hot. We left the Starbucks Chalet in the car. The lines were long and we were thirsty so we left after sitting in the car for about 15 minutes.
If we look back now at how the war ended, it was a very clever strategy by the North Vietnamese. Because in one way, they've never been defeated. I think they used that tactic to set up the American troops for defeat. They were always pushing, as they'd say, pushing the peace negotiations to the next day. That was a very clever strategy, but it worked. And the American people and our government was so focused on the war that they didn't pay attention to what was happening. 827ec27edc
