The Start Menu in the updated operating system runs on top end of a group of tiles representing Windows 8-style applications and system features. Navigation between the group of tiles is called a "start taskbar", written as StartTray/Tray or StartTasks/Tasks. Additionally, the user can pin their favorite applications to the taskbar, creating a custom Start screen.
Start Tasks and Start Icons are both in the menu; Start Tasks represents full-screen programs, while Start Icons represent pinned apps. Both options appear with the Windows logo and the word "Quick Access" in the lower right corner. Start Tasks can be thought of as the equivalent of the older Windows 7 Start Menu's "applications" option, and Start Icons can be thought of as the equivalent of the newer Windows 8 Start Menu's "windows" options; both are used to quickly launch apps or quickly access frequently-consulted options.
It shows all the apps running to the right of the Start Screen, making it easier to launch them quickly. You can pin programs in the right pane in a matter of seconds, adding icons to the Start tray to access them instantly. StartIsBack++ users can also pin any number of files - pictures, videos, music, and documents - from any location to the Start tray. d2c66b5586
